Mafia III: Definitive Edition Mission List

A spoiler-controlled Mafia III: Definitive Edition mission list arranged by prologue, underboss recruitment, district campaigns, ending, favors, and DLC.

The Mafia III: Definitive Edition mission list is best read as a progression map, not one unbroken checklist. Named story chapters frame a middle act in which six districts can be attacked in different orders. Each district then contains two racket arcs, a lieutenant confrontation, and a sitdown. Optional favors and the three Definitive Edition expansions sit beside that spine.

This list avoids revealing the final narrative choice. It names enough campaign landmarks to help you locate a stalled save while keeping late cutscene outcomes out of the route.

Prologue and the New Bordeaux setup

The opening sequence begins with Why Take the Chance? and follows Lincoln’s return, his reunion with friends and family, and the federal-reserve robbery. Missions such as This Changes Everything, A Taste of the Action, Never Going to Be Over, Time to Make a Change, and Damn If This Ain’t a Gas belong to this directed setup.

Play these objectives in the order the game presents. The world is not yet in its later district-management state. If an opening mission appears blocked, reload the last checkpoint before wandering far from its scripted area.

Recovery and coalition recruitment

After the betrayal, Lincoln reconnects with John Donovan and begins building the organization needed to attack Marcano. The campaign then establishes three home territories and recruits their leaders:

Delray Hollow

Cassandra's arc introduces the Hollow's rackets and brings the Haitian operation into Lincoln's coalition.

River Row

Vito Scaletta's situation leads through local operations and secures the experienced mobster as an underboss.

Pointe Verdun

Thomas Burke's recruitment connects Lincoln to the Irish mob and completes the three-underboss structure.

Somethin’ I’ve Got to Do, Old Times’ Sake, In the River, We Partners Now?, The Home Fires Burn, and For an Old Friend are useful names to recognize around this transition. The log can interleave related racket work, so follow the selected objective rather than assuming the menu order is a strict linear sequence.

Six assignable district campaigns

Once the coalition is formed, the middle campaign opens. These six territories may be tackled with meaningful flexibility:

  • Downtown — the route toward Tony Derazio and Marcano’s city-center operation.
  • Tickfaw Harbor — industrial and smuggling work tied to Frank Pagani.
  • Barclay Mills — heavy-industry operations connected to Enzo Conti.
  • Frisco Fields — the wealthy district and the Marcano allies operating there.
  • Southdowns — Tommy Marcano’s territory and entertainment interests.
  • French Ward — Lou Marcano’s power base in the city’s nightlife district.

Every district has two rackets. The individual damage jobs can be completed in different combinations, so a database may list more activities than a single playthrough requires. The stable order is contact, racket damage, two racket bosses, lieutenant mission, then sitdown.

How to tell what is mandatory

A named lieutenant objective and the two racket takeovers are campaign work. A marker that only contributes a dollar amount toward racket damage is one path to the threshold, not necessarily a compulsory mission. If the counter reaches its requirement, look for the boss confrontation even when other red markers remain.

Associate favors, trafficking runs, races, and collectible searches are optional unless the selected objective explicitly says otherwise. They can improve earn, unlock rewards, or support completion goals, but the main story does not require exhausting every repeating task.

When a district is captured, the sitdown is mandatory campaign administration. The assignment affects underboss control and future benefits. Make a manual save before entering if you need a clean decision point.

Final campaign chain

After all required districts and Marcano lieutenants are resolved, the story converges again. Yet Here We Are, Kill Sal Marcano, and Before They Bury You are recognizable late-game landmarks. The game presents Lincoln with a concluding decision after the central revenge objective; this guide does not state the outcomes.

Do not begin the finale with an unresolved assumption that free-roam state will behave exactly as before. Bank cash, restock, and finish any side thread you consider personally important. A separate manual save gives you the clearest way to revisit the ending decision.

Optional missions and favors

Underboss-related jobs include supply and trafficking activities that increase racket earn up to a limit. Alma, Emmanuel, and Nicki are associated with recurring support work for their respective organizations. Other character threads provide narrative context or specialized rewards.

The useful test is visible benefit. If the racket earn display is capped, repeating a familiar run may no longer advance it. If the objective remains in the log but the main campaign points elsewhere, treat it as optional rather than a hidden blocker.

Definitive Edition DLC mission chains

The included expansions have separate identities:

  1. Faster, Baby! sends Lincoln and Roxy Laveau to Sinclair Parish to confront Sheriff Walter Beaumont.
  2. Stones Unturned pairs Lincoln with Donovan against Connor Aldridge and a larger military threat.
  3. Sign of the Times follows Anna McGee’s investigation and the Ensanglante cult, then opens the Sammy’s bar restoration thread.

These chains appear after sufficient base-game progress. They do not replace the six-district ladder. If their prompt is missing, advance the main campaign and complete the relevant introductory contact rather than trying to reach a DLC location early.

Quick recovery checklist for a stalled objective

  • Re-select the mission and read the current sentence in the log.
  • Confirm whether a racket still has damage remaining.
  • Check both racket bosses before expecting the district lieutenant.
  • Visit Donovan or the marked contact and allow dialogue to finish.
  • Turn map filters back on if relevant icons are hidden.
  • Verify files and compare the save against the October 2026 update state.
  • Reload the checkpoint immediately before a failed scripted trigger.

The mission list is intentionally structural: it tells you which ladder you are on. Exact combat routes belong in individual walkthroughs, where entrance, objective state, and exit can be explained without burying the campaign order.
