Sign of the Times follows Lincoln’s investigation of the Ensanglante cult and the aftermath of Sammy’s Bar. The story alternates crime-scene investigation with close combat and ends by opening Sammy’s renovation project. Slow down at clue scenes: progress depends on inspecting the correct evidence, not simply eliminating every enemy in the area.
The DLC is AppID 598022 content bundled with Mafia III: Definitive Edition on Windows Steam. It should be played after Lincoln has recruited all three base-game underbosses and the DLC markers have appeared.
Prepare for investigation and tight interiors
Take a suppressed weapon for controlled entries, a reliable close-range firearm, armor, and full healing supplies. Several locations move from quiet clue work to sudden attacks, so a pure long-range loadout is awkward.
A Little Closure
Return to Sammy's, examine what remains, and follow the first evidence of the cult rather than rushing away from the bar.
Covered in Blood
Use the investigation prompts to reconstruct the scene and identify the next locations.
Schools, storage, and mansion
Wells Park Middle School, Welty Storage, and Harless Mansion combine clues, navigation, and escalating combat.
Finale and restoration
Complete All for the Blessed and …Worse Than Dying, then begin Sammy's Renovation with Aunt Lily.
Make a manual save before returning to Sammy’s and another before the late cult sequence. The restoration activity follows the story but uses separate spending and side-mission gates.
Investigate Sammy’s and the first crime scenes
At Sammy’s, inspect every marked trace and let the dialogue finish. The game teaches its investigation mode through light, symbols, photographs, and environmental evidence. If the objective does not advance, turn slowly within the search zone and revisit any highlighted item from a different angle.
During Covered in Blood, treat the scene as a sequence. Interact with evidence in the accessible rooms, follow Lincoln’s observations, then move to the newly marked lead. Leaving the circular search area early can make the next prompt seem absent.
Once enemies appear, move back to known cover rather than fighting in the center of the clue space. After combat, re-enter investigation mode and check whether the interrupted evidence still needs interaction.
Work through the middle locations
Wells Park Middle School and Welty Storage reward careful room clearing. Mark targets through doorways, watch for flanking routes, and search the completed room only after the combat state ends. Objective markers can point beyond a locked-looking boundary whose entrance is in an adjacent hall or yard.
Harless Mansion expands the scale. Scout the property, remove isolated guards, and preserve armor for the interior push. When clues and enemies share a room, complete the immediate threat first; the evidence will remain available afterward.
The cult imagery is meant to guide the investigation, but repeated symbols are not all interactive. Follow the prompt and highlighted evidence rather than spending time on every painted wall.
Complete the cult finale
All for the Blessed drives the story toward its confrontation, and …Worse Than Dying resolves the immediate threat. Carry full ammunition into this sequence because returning to an arms dealer may not be possible between its stages.
Use hard cover against grouped enemies and avoid charging ritual spaces before elevated or side-angle shooters are removed. If the checkpoint restarts Lincoln in danger, retreat toward the entrance and rebuild control of the room.
At the final interactions, wait for spoken lines and animation prompts. A clue or rescue sequence may require Lincoln to stand within a narrow area. Reposition slightly rather than mashing the interaction button from the wrong side.
Unlock Sammy’s renovation
After the story is resolved, return to Aunt Lily and the bar. Sammy’s Renovation is a follow-up chain, not a passive reward that completes automatically. Purchase improvements in the available categories and complete Lily’s gated missions when they appear.
The restoration requires a substantial total investment and includes the missions Angry White Boys and Lil Ernie before all upgrades can be bought. Keep campaign cash for armor and ammunition instead of emptying the bank on the first renovation menu.
Restoring the bar is a narrative and achievement project; it is not a dependable profit business. Pair it with racket kickback or a mature Herbalism operation if you want to finish without repetitive store robberies.
Troubleshoot clues and mission triggers
If an investigation stalls, confirm every highlighted piece has been inspected and remain inside the marked search boundary. Turn off visual modifications that alter lighting or post-processing if clues are difficult to see, then verify official files.
For a door or transition that stays closed, eliminate all remaining hostiles and return to the companion or evidence point. Let dialogue complete. Reload the nearest checkpoint before leaving the DLC route for unrelated city activity.
The October 2026 Steam update is the current public baseline. Update before applying an old launcher bypass or depot downgrade. Keep a pre-DLC save so a genuinely damaged mission state can be retried without affecting district and underboss choices.
